PHOTOGRAPHERS

Since 1987, the annual
exhibition is one of the
first actions of the Hellenic
Centre of Photography, thus
contributing essentially in
featuring young creators up to
35 years old, whereas several
renowned photographers have
been distinguished through it.
The work of 32 contemporary
artists tries to map the artistic
concerns, the orientations and
the quests of the new generation
of Greek photographers. Από
το 1987, η ετήσια έκθεση
αποτελεί μια από τις πρώτες
δράσεις του Ελληνικού Κέντρου
Φωτογραφίας, συμβάλλοντας
ουσιαστικά στην ανάδειξη νέων
δημιουργών έως 35 ετών,
με αρκετούς καταξιωμένους
σήμερα φωτογράφους που
έχουν ξεχωρίσει μέσα από
αυτήν. Φέτος, το έργο 32
σύγχρονων δημιουργών
επιχειρεί να χαρτογραφήσει
τις καλλιτεχνικές ανησυχίες,
τους προσανατολισμούς και τις
αναζητήσεις της νέας γενιάς της
ελληνικής φωτογραφίας.

COPYING (IN) THE PAST 2018 Ministry of Culture and Sports, Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki (photographer O. Kourakis)
This grandiose exhibition attempts to approach the important phenomenon of copying, in the past,
in the present and the innumerable varieties it is expressed, in the framework of artistic creation.
Through a presentation that combines words, sound and images, almost 110 artifacts are exhibited
to visualize the timeless idea of copying, either as creative and symbolic inspiration or as faithful
reproduction. At the same time, the exhibition explores the crucial role of ancient Greek art in the
formation of a collective artistic lexicon in Europe. Η μεγαλειώδης έκθεση επιχειρεί να προσεγγίσει το
πολυσήμαντο φαινόμενο της αντιγραφής στο παρελθόν και το παρόν και στις αμέτρητες σε ποικιλία
εκφράσεις του, στο πλαίσιο της καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας. Μέσα από μια παρουσίαση που συνδυάζει Lily Zoumpouli, Angela Svoronou.
λόγο, ήχο και εικόνα εκτίθενται 110 αντικείμενα, που εικονοποιούν τη διαχρονική
ιδέα της αντιγραφής είτε ως δημιουργικής και συμβολικής έμπνευσης είτε ως πιστής
μίμησης. Παράλληλα, διερευνάται ο καίριος ρόλος που έπαιξε η αρχαία ελληνική
τέχνη στη διαμόρφωση ενός συλλογικού ευρωπαϊκού εικαστικού λεξιλογίου.
