FRIENDSHIP GIFTS
In light of its 20-year anniversary, the Teloglion
Fine Arts Foundation honors its donors by
presenting 160 artworks (almost 56 donations)
that support its work and vision. Paintings,
sculpture, gravures and a variety of other
artworks and art forms are placed next to one
another. Despite their inherent differences,
these works communicate and connect in a
magical way, laying the groundwork for multi-
leveled interpretations. Ενόψει της επετείου
των 20 χρόνων λειτουργίας του, το Τελλόγλειο
Ίδρυμα τιμά τους δωρητές του παρουσιάζοντας
160 έργα (περίπου 56 δωρεές), που ενισχύουν
το έργο και το όραμα του ιδρύματος. Ζωγραφικά,
γλυπτά, χαρακτικά αλλά και ποικίλα αντικείμενα
και μορφές τέχνης τοποθετούνται το ένα δίπλα
στο άλλο και, παρόλη τη διαφορετικότητα που
τα διακρίνει, συνομιλούν και συνδέονται μεταξύ
τους με έναν μαγικό τρόπο, δίνοντας έρεισμα
για πολλαπλές αναγνώσεις σε διάφορα επίπεδα.

GYPSY STATES
In an effort to dispel the prejudice and romanticized
stereotypes that date for centuries, photographer
Kosmas Emmoglou has been capturing scenes from
Roma settlements around Thessaloniki for the past three
years. His photographs are shown in an exhibition that
approaches these people as familiar members, not as an
external observer. Removing the veneer of momentary Vlassis Angelos “In Sitting Position”, 2008. Massoura Voula “Νο.441187” from the series
naturalness, his images are no longer a “window” to

αποβάλουμε αιώνες προκαταλήψεων και ρομαντικών
στερεοτύπων, ο φωτογράφος Κοσμάς Εμμόγλου
φωτογράφισε επί τρία χρόνια οικισμούς Ρομά γύρω από
τη Θεσσαλονίκη και παρουσιάζει τις φωτογραφίες του σε
μια έκθεση που προσεγγίζει τους ανθρώπους σαν οικείο
μέλος και όχι σαν εξωτερικός παρατηρητής. Αναιρώντας
την επίφαση της στιγμιοτυπικής
φυσικότητας, οι φωτογραφίες του δεν
είναι πια «παράθυρο» αλλά «καθρέφτης».
