VILLAGES AND TOWNS AT THE HEAD OF THE THERMAIC GULF
Archaeological evidence indicates that the Thermaic Gulf basin was populated from the Neolithic Age up to 316-315 BC when
Cassander decided to found the city of Thessaloniki according to a resettlement plan. For the foundation of the city, inhabitants
from 26 villages and small towns of the wider region were moved in order to form the new settlement. Finds from the excavations
of four of these small towns (Polichne, Toumba, Kalamaria and Pylaia) are exhibited to the public for the first time. Από τη Νεολιθική
Εποχή μέχρι το 316-315 π.Χ. όταν ο Κάσσανδρος αποφάσισε να ιδρύσει τη Θεσσαλονίκη με τη μέθοδο του «συνοικισμού», πάντα
υπήρχε οργανωμένη ανθρώπινη παρουσία στο μυχό του Θερμαϊκού. Για τη δημιουργία της νέας πόλης μετακινήθηκαν κάτοικοι από
26 κώμες και πολίσματα της περιοχής, ευρήματα από τις ανασκαφές τεσσάρων εκ των οποίων (Πολίχνη, Τούμπα, Καλαμαριά, Πυλαία)

In the exhibition of the conjectural artist Katerina Chatzi are presented the Odysseas Elytis, C.P. Cavafy, Alexandros Papadiamantis, Giorgos Seferis
portraits of some of the most significant features of poetry and literature. In
the plasticity of the figure, the focus on the gaze and the accomplishment
of a unification through colour, the artist manages to depict the mentality
of the faces, leading to a particularly spiritual and artistic quest. Στην
έκθεση της εικαστικού Κατερίνας Χατζή παρουσιάζονται πορτρέτα μερικών
εκ των σημαντικότερων προσωπικοτήτων από το χώρο της ποίησης και της Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
λογοτεχνίας. Μέσα από την πλαστικότητα της μορφής, την
εστίαση στο βλέμμα και την επίτευξη της ενότητας με το χρώμα,
η καλλιτέχνις κατορθώνει να αποδώσει την ψυχοσύνθεση
των προσώπων οδηγώντας προς μια ιδιαίτερα πνευματική και
