7th THESSALONIKI
BIENNALE
Entitled “Taking a Stance” and thematically
organised around the same concept, this
year’s biennale summarizes many of the
primary concerns shared by the exhibition's
curators. “Taking a Stance” offers the
opportunity for people to soberly observe
and reflect on contemporary art away from
the dominating forms of show business,
market forces and sensationalism. The
exhibition attempts a historical overview
of the self, the world and of life through
artistic approaches and artworks created by
artists in search of alternative viewpoints of
the past, present and future world, thereby
finding ways of reconstructing it. Με τίτλο
και κεντρικό θεματικό άξονα τη «Στάση», η
φετινή διοργάνωση συνοψίζει πολλούς από
τους προβληματισμούς της επιμελητικής
ομάδας της έκθεσης. Η «Στάση» προσφέρει το
χρόνο για να ξαναδεί κανείς με νηφαλιότητα
τη σύγχρονη τέχνη, μακριά από την
κυρίαρχη μορφή του θεάματος, της αγοράς
και του εντυπωσιασμού. Η έκθεση επιχειρεί
μια ιστορική επισκόπηση του εαυτού, του
κόσμου και της ζωής μέσα από καλλιτεχνικές
θέσεις και έργα, των οποίων οι καλλιτέχνες
αναζητούν εναλλακτικά σημεία θέασης
του παρελθόντος, του παρόντος και του
μελλοντικού κόσμου, και τον ανασυνθέτουν.

TRANSIT PASSERS
Analysing for many years, the trace and free-write,
meanings of definitive value for his presence and
future, Giorgos Xenos, one of the most important
ambassadors of contemporary Greek art, created the
Transit, an evolving work, consisting of the number
of human outlines made of iron. The installation
focuses on managing, reporting and transmitting
the information, while it signifies a reflection
continuing the dialogue between the past and

Διερχόμενους, ένα έργο σε εξέλιξη που αποτελείται
από ένα πλήθος ανθρωπίνων περιγραμμάτων
από σίδηρο. Η εικαστική γλυπτική εγκατάσταση
εστιάζει στη διαχείριση, μετάδοση και μεταφορά της
πληροφορίας δημιουργώντας καινούργια δεδομένα,
ενώ σηματοδοτεί έναν αναστοχασμό συνεχίζοντας
το διάλογο ανάμεσα στο παρελθόν και το παρόν
